Our organization’s key objective is to fund innovative lung cancer research that will lead to a cure. With our partners around the country we have awarded $8.5 million to academic investigators engaged in innovative lung cancer research. Our program focuses on funding research with the potential to make a significant impact on treatment and a cure. We strive to attract the best and brightest researchers at all career levels to the field of lung cancer and support open collaboration among institutions.
Our research investment is guided by our Medical Committee, composed of top physicians and researchers from the nation’s leading universities and cancer centers. We measure our success based on scientific progress, follow-on funding and an increase in the number of promising investigators entering the field of lung cancer research. Our grantees have risen to become the field’s leading experts, and have garnered over $45 million to date in follow-on funding to support their research.
With our partners, UALC holds events around the country that raise awareness and put a face to lung cancer. From walks, races and dinners to our signature event Kites for a Cure®, we empower our partners to make a difference.
At Uniting Against Lung Cancer, we’re speaking at the top of our lungs on behalf of all those affected by lung cancer.
